Good afternoon church, thank you all for the prayers over the last week. I had lots of military connections all working behind the scenes to get me in contact with several key people at my new base who are all helping me get treated. The doctor I had seen in Gainsville had previously trained the now head of sarcoma treatment at San Antonio Brooke Army Medical Center. Because of those connection, I was able to get fast tracked straight to San Antonio in two weeks. The Air Force is going to cover all the expenses to send me and a family member to San Antonio for anywhere from 2 weeks to multiple months if needed. From a treatment standpoint, this is an even better outcome than I had hoped for. It has been very humbling to have to ask for so much help and have so many people work so hard to help me. The Lord has put some amazing people in my path.

I’m still waiting for results on what type of Sarcoma I have and that will determine how extensive the treatment is. My biggest prayer request right now is that it can be treated with just surgical removal and radiation without any need for systemic treatments like chemo. The flight doc seems hopeful that I will likely still have a flying career ahead of me after a couple of years. 

I have felt a supernatural level of peace throughout this all and have had many opportunities to explain to people that I know God is in control and I have need to fear the future. I read 2 Cor 4:8 the other day and think it explains well where I’m at “[We are] perplexed, but not driven to despair”. Please pray that I’ll continue to feel this peace as I get deeper into treatment and have to deal more with the physical limitations instead of just the career limitations.

Please also pray for me to continue to build a community out in Columbus. I will likely only be out here for a few months, but have a church I think I’m going to plan on being a part of for that time and have met several other people on the base.
